Hemp may be the only plant in the world that can feed, fuel, clothe, shelter and heal us. In 2018 the government classified hemp as a commodity crop just like alfalfa, corn, oats or wheat. However, this crop can replace plastics and even reduce our carbon footprint. Most importantly (at least to us), is what the plant can do for horses. The horse helped build the world so it’s about time we help build Sturdy Horses using natural feed and products. Here is a simple way to start.

The seeds from the hemp plant are extremely nutritious, containing high levels of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. They also contain gamma-linolenic acid, and more than 25% of their total calories are from high-quality protein. There are countries around the world that have been feeding hemp (both greenery and seed products) to their livestock for generations! We can too.

In these modern times it is too easy to make our diets and the diets of our horses overly complex. It is easy to simplify horse care and bring it back to nature by stepping away from genetically modified oats, corn and soybean products as well as man-made synthetics.
